Below is a list of Frequently Asked Questions that will assist in making your shopping experience as pleasant as possible. Should you have any more questions please don't hesitate to contact us.

 

To what countries can I get products delivered to?

Garmin Online is currently only available in South Africa and we can only do deliveries within South Africa.We plan to extend our service to neighbouring countries very shortly. Should you wish to be notified of this event please register with us and subscribe to our newsletter.

 

Registering as a user

In order to buy products from Garmin Online you will have to register as a user first. It is possible to add products to a Shopping Basket but you will not be allowed to check out and pay without supplying us with all the required information through the registration process. This is to ensure that all your contact and shipping detail can be verified before finalising a transaction. All mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk (*) and all the information that you enter will be saved and kept private in accordance with our Privacy Policy. To complete the registration process, follow the link in the confirmation e-mail that will be sent to you.

 

Maintaining your account

Once you are signed into your account you can manage and track all aspects like personal detail, delivery addresses, your password and orders. Always ensure that your account details are up to date thereby ensuring that you can recover your password if necessary and that orders are shipped to the correct address. Please note that changes to contact details and delivery addresses will only affect future purchases.

 

What is your Newsletter all about?

During the registration process you have the option to subscribe to our newsletter. Garmin will send out Newsletters at times and in a manner it sees fit and its sole discretion without creating the expectation that it will be by way of frequent issues. These newsletters will keep you informed of any new Garmin products, product offers, updates and specials that will be available from time to time. At any time you have the option to cancel your subscription by signing into your account. Under no circumstances will your personal information or contact details be shared with any third party. I forgot my password. How do I retrieve it?

To reset your password you will have to supply the e-mail address associated with your account. This is to ensure that you are indeed the owner of the account. An e-mail will be sent to the address and you will be able to reset your password by following this link. Use the new password for any subsequent logins. Should you not have access to the mailbox to which the confirmation e-mail is being sent anymore you can contact us to reset your password manually. You will be required to answer a few questions regarding your account for security purposes.

 

Are all items shown as available in the shop really available?

If an item is shown as available it means that we have stock in the warehouse that is ready to be picked, invoiced and shipped. Should the available quantity not be sufficient to fulfil your order you will be notified and the number of products added to the cart will automatically be changed to the available quantity. When an item is not available for shipment it will show “Out of Stock” and you will not be able to add it to your cart. To buy this item in our Online Shop you will have to check back later.

 

What is the difference between a Shopping List and a Shopping Basket?

Your Shopping List is exactly that; a list of things you would like to buy. The Shopping Basket contains those items which you have selected to purchase and for which you will be billed when you check out. You can create one or more Shopping Lists with different sets of products or you can move everything in your Basket to a Shopping List to purchasing at a later stage. When you sign in again the Shopping List can be transferred to your Shopping basket for check out. Please note that items in your Shopping List are not reserved for purchase and might not be available when you transfer them to your Shopping Basket at a later stage.

 

What if the product is out of stock?

If any products in our shop are out of stock you will not be able to add it to your Shopping Basket. You cannot put them on back order and partial deliveries are not possible.

 

What payment options are available?

Garmin Online accepts the following payment methods for online purchases:

  1. All Visa and Mastercard
  2. American Express
  3. Diners Club
  4. Visa Electron and Maestro debit cards
  5. Moneybookers account (if registered)

Payments are facilitated by Moneybookers.com and an integrated payment gateway on Garmin Online will guide customers through the payment process. At no point does Garmin capture or save any credit card or banking details of a customer.

Shipping & Delivery

Shipping is handled through RTT Couriers and we offer a 2 to 3 (working) day delivery lead time for free throughout South Africa. Deliveries are made to physical addresses between 08:00 and 17:00 during the week. Although you have to specify an address during the registration process you have the option to add an alternative delivery address during check out. Please ensure that there is somebody to receive your parcel at the delivery address that you specify.

Please note: Although you can find the entire range of Garmin devices and Accessories in our Concept Store, orders that are placed online cannot be collected as they are processed and shipped from our offsite warehouse.

 

What happens if my order is delivered when I’m not at home?

Because we deliver to any address in South Africa you can also specify your office address if you’re not at home during the day. Should there not be somebody to receive the parcel at the specified delivery address the courier will phone you to make alternative arrangements. Please note that this will cause delays that Garmin cannot control. To ensure a smooth delivery process please enter any additional delivery comments during check out.

 

 Can I change my order after confirmation and payment?

During the checkout process you have an opportunity to change your order right up to the point of payment. Once payment is received the order is being queued for processing. Once an order is invoiced no further changes can be accommodated.

 

Is an order confirmation legally binding?

Before you can finalise your order you have to accept the Terms and Conditions associated with purchasing products from Garmin Online. An order placed on Garmin Online is therefore binding. For more information please refer to our Terms and Conditions.

 

Affiliate partners: Terms & Conditions

Affiliate partners are supplied with affiliate discount vouchers which allow their members a discount on purchases from Garmin Online. The terms of use of these vouchers are set out below:

  1. These Terms and Conditions are applicable to the redemption of a discount voucher and if the holder does not agree to it, he/she should not redeem it
  2. Vouchers may only be redeemed towards the purchase of selected Garmin products online at www.garminonline.co.za
  3. This voucher will allow the holder thereof a discount on the retail price of a Garmin product at Garmin Online at the time of redemption
  4. To qualify, the holder must use the coupon code on this voucher when purchasing the Garmin product online
  5. Vouchers may not be exchanged for cash or used in conjunction with any other Garmin promotion running at the time
  6. Only one voucher may be redeemed by a particular customer and the coupon code can only be redeemed once
  7. This voucher will be valid for a period in accordance with the then current Consumer Protection legislation from date of issue

  9. Garmin’s employees, business partners and their family members do not qualify for the discount offered in terms hereof

 

I have an Affiliate Discount Coupon. How do I redeem it?

Affiliate Discount Coupons are only distributed to Affiliate partners through closed programs. Should you be in possession of such a coupon you can enter the voucher code during the checkout process to redeem the discount on your shopping basket. The discount only applies to the products in the basket and not on the shipping cost.

The coupon code can be entered in the first step of the checkout process. Click on <Redeem> to calculate the discount before proceeding with the checkout. Refer to the back of the Affiliate Discount Coupon for more information.

 

How can I track my order?

You will receive an e-mail once your order has been confirmed and another one once the order has been completed and invoiced. You can also track this status online by logging into your account. Once the order has been invoiced you will be able to track your parcel by entering your Order Number in the Track your parcel page.

 

Will my personal account information be safe with Garmin?

We handle all personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We do not share any of your information with any 3rd parties and we are committed to keeping your information secure.

I am not entirely satisfied with my purchase. What Now?

Merchandise in its original condition may be returned for a refund within 14 days of purchase. Opened MapSource software and downloadable products are non refundable. Please refer to our Returns & Refunds Policy


Warranties & Exchanges

Garmin’s non-aviation products are warranted to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for one year from the date of purchase. Please refer to our One Year Consumer Limited Warranty for detail.
